Dr. Katrina Green has over 27 years of health care experience with many years as a nurse educator specializing in staff development. She is an adjunct faculty member at the NCCU Department of Nursing, having taught for the undergraduate program, accelerated program, and the registered nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Her health care career began as a nursing assistant and she found a career she felt she belonged in. She went on to earn her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Durham Tech. Her first job as an RN was in an inpatient hematology-oncology unit. After a few years, she was approached by the director of education with an invitation to transition to being an educator. She took advantage of the opportunity and has never looked back. In this new role, she had a new understanding of the importance of continuing her professional development. She then obtained her BSN from the University of North Carolina (UNC) Greensboro, continued on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Nursing Education from Duke School of Nursing, and then completed her Doctorate in Leadership Education at UNC Charlotte.
